MC² values New Mexico teachers’ expertise and believes in providing year-long opportunities for professional growth and leadership development. The Teacher Leader Cadre builds the capacity of educators to support effective teaching and learning across the state. With a multi-tiered approach, K-12 teachers are invited to develop, plan, implement and present workshops across the state. These opportunities provide avenues for Teacher Leaders to work collaboratively on projects that support mathematical professional growth in order to ultimately increase student learning across the state. Throughout the year, Teacher Leaders work with mathematicians and math educators to deepen their own math understanding. They then transfer that learning.
