Preparing for Spring 2017 PARCC

PARCC Math Assessment Technology Navigation Videos:
MC² is sponsoring teacher information sessions on how to help students fluently utilize the technology tools associated with the PARCC assessment. The purpose of these gradeband online tutorials is to demonstrate with commentary how to navigate ion and use the tools available for the ComputerBased Assessments. The items appearing in the tutorials are samples used to allow students and educators to gain familiarity with the technology platform that will be used for taking the PARCC assessments. The following gradebands will be represented since each has its unique navigation tools not highlighted in prior samples.

Use the “MC² Thinking Protocol: Meaningful PARCC Test Prep” with electronic PARCC performancetype sample test items regularly (12 times per week) that are aligned with the content of class. Refer to Sample PARCC Practice Test Item Grade Level Packets below. Use student initiated strategies for test practice.

Preparing for Spring 2015 PARCC

MC² Countdown to PARCC 2014/2015 Monthly Details

The MC² Countdown to PARCC is designed to give teachers practical strategies to prepare students for the types of tasks they will experience in the online assessment. The Countdown is offered in two sections:
Supports for Teachers – This section provides tips for teachers to collaborate with others to understand PARCC expectations and plan mathematics tasks designed to build conceptual understanding and strategic thinking for approaching complex mathematical tasks with confidence and competence.
Classroom Strategies – This section provides ideas for incorporating PARCC preparation into the classroom. The strategies provide tips for the CCSS mathematical practices and content to be built into daily/weekly warmup math activities and formative assessment tasks.
As PARCC releases tools and resources, we will incorporate them into our countdown.
